Each year we offer over 5,000 opportunities for the people of Hackney, East and North East London to participate in the arts.

Arcola Theatre offers a wide range of opportunities for students to learn in a creative environment. Whether you’re looking for workshops, tours, performances or bespoke projects, we have a team of expert practitioners able to deliver work in your building or in our beautiful theatre. All of our practitioners hold valid Enhanced DBS checks.

Arcola is a winner of the Learning Trust Educators’ Award for making “an outstanding contribution to the development and ongoing success of local schools”.

Arcola’s Young People’s Programmes - Arcola Academy, Arcola Youth Theatre and Young AYT – draw on theatrical forms and traditions from the UK, and across Europe to provide a place for young people to ignite their creativity and challenge themselves.

Arcola facilitates a supportive and playful environment, in which young people (from ages 9 up to 20) can develop and explore, as well as staging high quality and innovative productions.

The sessions are led by professional directors and facilitators who use cutting edge practices to push the boundaries of what youth theatre can achieve. We are an inclusive youth theatre and treat every participant as an artist with a unique perspective to share and experiment with.

Young people can sign up to take part in AYT at:
