Dulwich Picture Gallery is the world's first purpose-built public art gallery, founded in 1811.
We house a world-class collection of Old Master paintings in Sir John Soane's unique building. We aim to engage young people in the visual arts, through our permanent collection, temporary exhibitions and exciting education programmes.
Our Education department offers school programmes for key stages one to five. For key stages one and two we provide free talks and creative sessions. We aim to spark children’s imaginations with interactive sessions that involve storytelling, discovery tours and arts workshops. For key stages three to five we also offer free talks, portfolio development, life-drawing and creative sessions. For all key stages we welcome groups with special educational needs, and provide interactive, sensory-based sessions in the gallery and art-studio. .
