Eastside Educational Trust is an arts education charity for children and young people in London.
Eastside is a professional organisation with creativity at its heart, inspiring young people from different backgrounds to discover their individual talents through creative workshops and sessions. We provide professional participatory workshops and guidance for all young people across the entire spectrum of the arts including drama and performance, dance and movement, literature and spoken word, visual arts and crafts, music and singing and film and media, both in-school-time and out-of-school-hours. Our aim is to inspire all young Londoners to develop their potential, share their talents and enrich their lives by enabling young people to work with professional artists, in areas where our help is needed most.
We were chosen by Disney as the only UK organisation to deliver their 'Disney Musicals in Schools' programme. We run a 3-year literature programme exploring creative writing, reading and poetry called ‘Verse vs Verse’. We also run the schools outreach programme for The Asia House Bagri Foundation Literature Festival and provide a number of other innovative youth arts projects for schools and colleges across London, both in school time and out of school hours. We are also partners with the British Film Institute to run one of the BFI Film Academies in London.
