Stratford Circus Arts Centre is a dynamic contemporary performing arts venue, driven by artistic excellence and the diverse communities of east London.

Our mission is to inspire and develop local talent and audiences in collaboration with the best artists in the UK and internationally. We bring accessible, world-class performances and creative learning to the doorsteps of people and communities in Newham and east London, enabling children and young people to experience the arts as audiences, performers and creators.

We’ve been working in our home borough of Newham for more than 10 years and we are a key resource for schools both locally in east London and beyond.

Specialising in performing arts, arts education and presenting world-class theatre for children and young people we develop and sustain relationships with schools in a strategic way that provides high-quality learning experiences in the arts, for teachers and pupils.

We offer a range of opportunities to primary and secondary schools including:

  • Performances for schools, often with wraparound activity including workshops, resources and teacher CPD
  • Specialist performances for children and young people with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilites)
  • Massed singing scheme for schools including vocal workshops and massed choir performances - NewYVC Unite
  • Every Child a Theatre Goer - a scheme in partnership with Newham Council to provide free theatre tickets to every Year 6 child in Newham
  • Bespoke artist-led projects, both in school and here at Stratford Circus Arts Centre
  • Support with creative careers guidance, work experience placements and opportunities for students to access our young people's programmes including summer schools and professional skills development programmes
  • Opportunities for schools to be part of the development and creation of new, professional pieces of theatre for children and young people
  • School improvement and Artsmark support, CPD and networking opportunities as part of the Creative Schools Artsmark programme
  • Space hire for schools to put on their own events
  • Working with Family Liaison workers in schools to offer free and subsidised tickets to shows to families
  • Termly Newham Secondary Drama Network meetings, and supporting teachers to produce the Newham Secondary Drama Festival
